Florence M. Otto, 85 of Pigeon, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care in Pigeon.
Born in Kilmanagh on February 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Flossie (Gregor) Heiman, and graduated 8th grade from the Winsor School. On July 13, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence "POD" Otto at St. John Lutheran Church, Berne. They were married for 63 years when he preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.
Florence worked in the Scheurer Hospital housekeeping department for 45 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and The Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by her son, Wayne "Butch" (Crystal) Otto of Pigeon; grandsons Matt (Janet) Otto of Milwaukie, Oregon and Christopher "CJ" (Jaime Villanueva) Otto of Saginaw; great-grandsons, Trent and Wesley; sister, Mildred Rosenthal of Pigeon; brothers, JC (Pat) Heiman of Newark, Ohio and Ray (Lois) Heiman of Belleville; sister-in-law, Jessie Otto of Pigeon; brother-in-law, Dale (Rita) Otto of Bad Axe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wenonah Fritz and Gladys Stover; and brother, Willard Heiman.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. Timothy Loehrke officiating. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will be in Grandlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care.
