Florence A Schubach

September 10, 1910 — January 11, 2006

Florence A. Schubach, age 95, of Elkton, died Wednesday afternoon, January 11, with family by her side.
She was born September 10, 1910 in Owendale at the home of her parents, the late Harry and Selma (Buzzard) Fritz.
On December 25, 1930, she was united in marriage to Stanley A. Schubach at the Bay Port Methodist parsonage.
Mrs. Schubach lived and farmed in McKinley Twp and Oliver Twp. with her husband, they retired in 1973, spending there winters near Brownsville, TX. After Stanley passed away in 1998, she continued to go to Texas during the winter months until her health prevented it.
Florence was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church and loved quilting. She was also a wonderful gardener and enjoyed camping with her family.
Surviving are six children, Anna Marie Krohn of Elkton, Eunice (Oliver) Leitch of Elkton, Selma (Bob) Thiel of McKinley Twp., Carolyn (Dennis) Champagne of Elkton, Ila Waller of Mt. Clemens and Jack Schubach of Elkton; 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a grandson, Gary “Judge” Leitch; two brothers, Alvin and Wilford Fritz and a sister, Helen Muenter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, at the Hayes United Methodist Church. Rev. Douglas Mater, pastor and her nephew, Lewis Tibbits will officiate with burial next to Stanley in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Memorial may be given to Hayes United Methodist Church or Bay Shore Camp.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Elkton from 2:00 to 9:00 PM Friday and at the church after 10:00 AM Saturday.
