Floyd Ross, age 92, passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. Johns River District Hospital in East China, Michigan. Floyd was born July 18, 1915 in North Branch, the son of the late Stanley J. & Nellie (Burnside) Rosolowski. He was united in marriage to the former Christina Yens on March 22, 1941 in Silverwood, Michigan. Christina preceded him in death on June 13, 1988 after forty-seven years of marriage. Floyd was employed by the Chrysler Corporation Mound Road Engine Plant as a Machine Repairman for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville, Mayville Eagles, and the United Auto Workers Union. Floyd thoroughly enjoyed fishing, bingo and playing cards. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Betty Ross Gottschalk of Chesterfield Township, Floyd F. & Catherine Ross of Bonita Springs, Florida, Delores “Dee” & Michael Peet of Kingston; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin Karl & Melissa Gottschalk of Algonac, David Matthew & Lea Gottschalk of New Baltimore, Amanda Christine Peet and her special friend, Sean Astley of Siverwood; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jesse and Ross; one sister, Lucile Fricke and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Christina, Floyd was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Vincent and Edsel Ross, Blanche Thompson, Nellie Moore and Delores Taschner and a son-in-law, Karl Duane Gottschalk.
