Ford E. Putnam, age 78, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper in Saginaw, following a brief illness. Bob was born February 6, 1932 in Caro, the son of the late Claud & Jenny (Brady) Putnam, and was a lifelong area resident. He was united in marriage with Dorothy Damm on December 5, 1951 in Caro and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob was employed by Fisher Body in Flint for thirty-two years, retiring in 1986 as a supervisor. He was a twenty-five year founding member of the Mayville Eagles #1099 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, yard work and wood crafts. Bob is survived by his loving wife of more than fifty-eight years, Dorothy Putnam of Caro; four children and their spouses, Lyle & Kimberly Putnam of New Hudson, Larry & Chris Putnam of Tennessee, Kimberly & Rich Budway of South Carolina, Lynn & Mary Putnam of Mayville; one brother and his wife, Peter & June Putnam of Caro; six grandchildren, Krystal, Amber, Timmy, and Buddy Putnam, Jennifer Davis and Demetria Porter; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one son, Claud Putnam; five brothers and one sister, Osborn, Stanley, Austin, Delos and Clifford Putnam and Marjorie Johnson.
