Forrest Lobdell

Forrest “Forry” Lobdell, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. He was born June 24, 1931 in Caro, the son of the late Sela and Lillie (Cooley) Lobdell. Forry was a 1951 graduate of Caro High School and was united in marriage with the former Mary Lou Mathews on February 23, 1952 in Mayville. He was a farmer and sold Equitable Life Insurance and was a broker with Lobdell Real Estate. Forry was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church, the Caro Golf Club, a fifty year member of the Caro Moose Lodge where he also played on their pool league for several years, and enjoyed deer hunting. Forrest is survived by his wife of more than fifty-nine years, Mary Lou; four daughters and their spouses, Melanie & Dr. William Strodel of Danville, Pennsylvania, Cindy Navarre of Jackson, Lori Lobdell of Caro, Stacy & Darryl Thayer of Jackson; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by three brothers, Frankie, Herbert and Jay Lobdell; one sister, Veda Reid.
