Fr. John Henry Weis

Rev. John Henry Weis Jr., 75, of Pigeon, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home.

Fr. John was born January 28, 1940 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late John H. Sr. and Sadie (Sparaco) Weis. He attended Immaculate Conception Seminary before being ordained to the priesthood in 1966 for the Diocese of Paterson, NJ. He served in the US Navy Reserves on active duty from 1980 to 1989. He began serving in the Diocese of Saginaw in 1991; in 1993 he was appointed pastor of St. Cyril, Bannister, then to Rapson as pastor of St. Joseph before coming to Holy Family, Sebewaing in 2003. He assumed administration of St. Francis Borgia in Pigeon in 2006. He retired in 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sister, Judy.

A funeral mass will be 11:00am Tuesday, April 28th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sebewaing with Bishop Joseph Cistone presiding.

Memorials may be made to the Sebewaing Knights of Columbus, Thumb Breadbasket or Huron County Master Gardeners. Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville is handling the arrangements.
