Frances Mae Gorski, 93, of Caseville, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Frances was born June 6, 1921 in Caseville to the late Albertus and Susie (Vachovic) Langley. She married Andrew S. Gorski on September 22, 1945 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1991.
In 1951 she moved to Utica and lived there until moving to Caseville in 1979 when she retired. While living in Utica she drove school bus for 19 years for Utica Community Schools. She continued working at Walt’s Restaurant as a waitress until she was into her 80's. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Caseville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, gardening, playing cards, BINGO and the Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by her loving family: son Andrew (Bonnie) of Caseville and daughter Deloris Culbreath of Shelby Twp; grandsons James Gorski (fiancee Jeanette Summerfield) and Robert Culbreath; great-grandchildren Jolene and Nicole Comby, Jordan Gorski and Hannah Culbreath; sisters Helen Guster of Caseville, Lois Dillon and Mary Orban both of Colwood; and special nieces Betty and Patti Steinman.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Culbreath, granddaughter Kimberly Culbreath, sisters Eleanor Perry, Erma Steele and Deloris Steinman, and brothers Leonard, Tuck, Roy and John Langley.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 25th at St. Roch-OLPH Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 pm Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. She will lie in-state one hour before mass on Wednesday in church. There will be a scripture service at 7:30pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials in her memory may be made to the Family Council at Courtney Manor.
