Frances B. (Harrison) Laursen passed away on June 21, 2012 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband James; three children, Kendall of San Diego, California, Karen (Kessler) of Wildwood, Missouri, and Kevin of North Bergen, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Tommy and Trevor Kessler; her brother Charles (Sandy) of Gardner, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Kurt, in September 2007; a sister, Alice Pritchard; and a brother, Tom.
Fran was born on November 2, 1933 to Claude and Violet (Hill) Harrison. She grew up in Redford, Michigan and moved to Sebewaing while in high school. She attended the nursing school at Saginaw General and worked as an R.N. for several years. She and Jim were married on August 26, 1955.
Fran will be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, grandmother and volunteer. She gave her time as both substitute school nurse and librarian at Pigeon Elementary School, and recently volunteered for many years at Scheurer Long-term Care Facility. She was an active lifelong member at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon and most recently a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chesterfield, Missouri.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon, with Rev. Timothy Loehrke, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Cross Lutheran Church Building Fund or Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
