Frances C. Richmond, age 81, of Pigeon passed peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, November 20, at Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland.
She was born January 7, 1929, at the home of her parents, the late John and Theresa (Gintner) Himmel in Chandler Twp.
Frances graduated from Elkton High School in 1946. On November 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ralph Richmond at St. Felix parsonage. They lived and raised their family on a farm in the Pigeon area. Ralph preceded her in death October 1, 1995.
She was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women; a past member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and Caseville Golf Course.
Frances was a homemaker and for several years was an Avon representative. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing cards, watching the kids at high school sports, and going to the casino.
Surviving are four children, Randy (Sue) Richmond of Mt Pleasant, Jackie McIlhargie of Mt Morris, Debbie ( fiancée, Glen Hirshberg)Dorenkamp of Plymouth and Ron (Sharon) Richmond of Filion; five grandchildren, Angie, Karl, Chris, Brandon and Ben; nine great grandchildren, Kylee, Ella, Brandis, Paris, Darren, Calvin, Haley, Kody and Logan; her sister, Barbara Dell of Caseville. Preceding her in death are her son, Ralphie Richmond, three grandsons, Todd and Adam McIlhargie and Cory McAllister; her son-in-law, Steve McIlhargie; and four brothers; John, Bobby, Duane and Gerald Himmel.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 24, at the Hayes United Methodist Church with burial in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Friends and family my call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 1 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to the church or American Heart Assn.
