Francis Jay Ross

Francis Jay Ross, age 70, passed away at Reading Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Francis was born in Pigeon on January 13, 1947, to John and Lydia (Sweet) Ross. After graduating from Laker High School in 1964, he attended and graduated from Central Michigan University. He volunteered many years to the Office of Economic Opportunity and lived many years in the southern states. He visited Pennsylvania for a job opportunity that fell through, but fell in love with the country. He decided to make PA his home and found his love and passion working for Boscov's Food and Catering as a Master Chef. Francis always looked forward to his vacation time in Michigan at the farm in Caseville, spending time with his family.

Francis is survived by his siblings: Leota (Jack) Gillespie of Three Rivers, Wiletta Ferguson of Caseville, Larry (Judy) Ross of Fenton, and Cathey (LeRoy) Eimers of Unionville; sister-in-law, Carol Ross of Clio, special friends Steven and Bettina Bonner of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.

Francis is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Ross; siblings: Erdene (Joe) Saylor, Erlene (Jay) Horton, Paul Ross, Delos (Merrill) Ross; and brother-in-law, Lowell Brown.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Community of Christ Church in Bay Port. Visitation will begin at the church at 12noon until the time of service at 1pm.

Burial of his cremains will be at Caseville Township Cemetery at a later date.
