Frank L. Baranic of Vassar, age 73, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born April 27, 1947 in Saginaw, the son of the late Frank C. and Eleanor M. (MacDougall) Baranic. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from May of 1966 until 1968 and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. Frank was united in marriage with the former Sharon Clauss on Valentine's Day in 1991 in Vassar, and she survives. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for Bulkmatic Corporation for more than thirty years. Following his retirement, he worked for Ackerman Farms. Frank collected NASCAR collectibles and baseball caps, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and listening to their accomplishments. Frank is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Sharon; five children and spouses, Tracy & Darren of Almont, Kathy & Chris of Akron, Brice of Duluth, MI, Patti & Greg of Vassar, Richard of Vassar; seven grandchildren, Alex, Abbey, Dru, Carson, Evan, Brett and Rindy; siblings and spouses, Perry & Janelle, Keith & Leslie, Deb & Dave, Donna & Richard, Steve and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Joann Baranic. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Juniata Township Cemetery with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and CNA's of Covenant Hospice for their excellent care and compassion while Frank was in their care.
