Frank Magiera

Frank C. Magiera, age 85, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 at St. Marys of Michigan Hospital in Saginaw. He was born November 19, 1920 in Caro, the son of the late Charles and Anna (Nickiel) Magiera, and was a lifelong area resident. Frank served in the Army during World War II, and was part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944. He was united in marriage to Eleanore Bobrowski in 1951 in Wyandotte, and the couple shared 55 years together. Frank worked side-by-side with his brother at Steve Magiera Drain Tiling. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Wilmot, the Polish American Club in Caro, and a life-member of the Caro V.F.W. Post 4164. He enjoyed polka music and dancing, practical jokes, and hunting. Frank is survived by his wife, Eleanore Magiera of Caro; two children, Cheryl Jasina of Melvin, MI and John Magiera of Caro; two sisters, Wanda Mlynarski of Grosse Isle, MI, Dorothy Yakes and her husband Leo of North Branch; Sisters-in-law, Delena Magiera and Betty Magiera, both of Caro, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, Leo, and Joseph Magiera; sister-in-law, Alice Magiera; brother-in-law, Edward Mlynarski; and son-in-law, Duane Anthony Jasina.
