Frank L. Newsome, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his daughters home, following a brief illness. He was born August 14, 1921 on the family farm in the Port Hope/Redmond area in Huron Township, the son of the late Roy & Cora (Cornish) Newsome. Frank was united in marriage with the former Grace L. Kinney on May 11, 1940 in Bad Axe. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1994. Frank was a carpenter by trade, working out of the Carpenter Union Hall in Saginaw for many years, retiring from active employment in 1984. He enjoyed working on his hobby farm, deer hunting, tending to his garden and watching game shows on television. Frank is survived by two daughters and one son, Jo Ann Terry of Sebewaing, Deborah Newsome of Pontiac, Mark Newsome and his wife, Shelley, of North Branch; two grandsons, Justin Wilding of Bad Axe and Frankie Newsome of North Branch; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Wilding of Bad Axe; one sister, Viola Duby of Au Gres; one brother, Lloyd Newsome of Cass City; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Frank was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. In respect of Franks wishes, a private family burial has been held at the Kingston Cemetery.
