Frank Joseph Spano, age 52 years, of South Colwood Road, Caro, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1953 in Detroit, living in Troy until moving to Caro in 1976. He married the former Dorothea Guilds on March 20, 1998, in Lucas County, Ohio. Frank was employed with the Michigan Employment Security Commission in Saginaw at the time of his death. He was an out-of-doors person, enjoying both fishing and hunting. He was very active in AA and spoke at many occasions. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Frank is survived by his wife; Dorothea; his mother, Catherine Spano of Caro; his aunts and uncles, Mary Kopacki, Julie and Anthony Cortese, Sam Oliva, Gaspare and Ann Spano and Raymond and Nancy Hammons; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Michael Spano in 1984; and his father, Salvatore, in 1997. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Warren with Father Bob Witkowski officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; on Wednesday at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons in Sterling Heights from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Capuchine Kitchen.
