Franklin Jr. Burgett

Franklin Jr. Burgett, age 83, of Essexville, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Country Square (AFC Home) in Auburn.

Frank was born December 20, 1932, in Deckerville, to the late George and Mina (Gotham) Burgett. He enjoyed working, writing and singing music, playing guitar, golfing, watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions, in his younger years he coached American Hoist softball team, and after retirement he enjoyed going to the casino. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Frank is survived by his wife, Gail (Jackson) Burgett of Essexville; children: Pamela (Douglas) Schad of Bay City, Rebecca (Jerry) Vermeesch of Linwood, Cheri (Jerry) Gomez of Bay City, Randall (Patricia) Burgett of Sebewaing, and Ricky Burgett of Bay City; grandchildren: Stacy Coyer, Scott Garzell, Jarod Vermeesch, Heather Ruster, Louis Lagalo III, Emily Gomez, Angela Stoian, R.J. Burgett, Alex Burgett, James Burgett and Justin Burgett; 8 great grandchildren: Ethan, Ella, Sidney, Kenleigh, Sora, Anna, Emma and Liam; siblings: Dona Burgett, Patricia Kuhl, William Burgett, Lynn Burgett and James Burgett; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mina Burgett; grandsons: Jeremy Lagalo and Ricky Burgett, Jr.; siblings: Thelma Fenauer, Betty Griggs, Marie Quintel, Bonnie Owens, Russ Burgett and Duane Burgett.

The visitation and service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 1pm.

A private burial service will be at Assembly of God Cemetery in Sebewaing.
