Franklin E. "Frank" Hixson

Franklin E. Hixson of Caro, age 71, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at his home, with his loving family by his side. Frank was born August 22, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Franklin and Margarette (Miller) Hixson. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, 7th Engineer Battalion, Spec 5, during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. Frank retired from UPS after twenty-five years of employment. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-three years, Linda; one son, George Hixson and his wife, Trista; two step-daughters, Lori O'Connor-Proctor and her husband, Cliff, and Lisa J. Wisdom; two grandchildren, Mark Wisdom II and Ryouga Hixson; two brothers, Vaughn Hixson and his wife, Pamela, James Hixson and wife, Cheryl; and one sister, Truann Hixson. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by one sister, Sheila (Hixson) Brewer. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial of cremated remains will take place this spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
