Franklin Perry Parsell, age 94, of Caro passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home. He was born on February 25, 1916 on the family farm on Akron Road in Almer Township to the late Worden and Ida (Lewis) Parsell. Franklin Parsell and the former Berneice Perry were married on February 8, 1941 in Caro. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2004. He was a lifelong farmer, along with working winters at Eaton Foundry, Defoe Shipbuilding, Froede Builders, Saginaw Steering Gear and Michigan Sugar. In later years, Franklin thoroughly enjoyed his tractor collection; restoring seven tractors and two cars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the tricks his beloved dog, Tinker, played. Franklin was a member and attendee of the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church. During their highlight in Tuscola County, he was a member of the NFO. He is survived by five children and spouses, Judith Ann and Jerome Lemire of Fairgrove, Richard and Barb Parsell of Caro, Dean Parsell of Caro, Bob and Bev Parsell of Caro, Don Parsell of Bad Axe; his grandchildren, Kip (Teri) Parsell, Melissa (Bill) Wright, Ann Marie Lemire, Deana (Troy) Nusz, Tammy (Brett) Romain, Rodney Parsell; his great-grandchildren, Corey and Tyler Parsell, Ryan and Madison Romain, Lucas and Elizabeth Parsell; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Parsell of Caro; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James G. Parsell; two sisters and two brothers, Irene Edmonds, Irma Erdody, Norman Parsell and Donald Parsell. The funeral service will be held at Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jon Herron and Bishop Phil Whipple officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church.
