Freda Pendergrast

Freda C. Pendergrast, age 75, of Caro, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Caro Community Hospital. She was born on March 4, 1933 in Pulaski County, Virginia to the late Roy and Alpha (Hamilton) Philipps. On February 18, 1953, the former Freda Callene Philipps married Charles Pendergrast. They moved to Hazel Park in 1955 and on to Caseville and finally Caro. She was a homemaker and mother as well as a loving wife of 55 years. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making. In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by four children and their spouses, Freda (Beauty) and Don Peters of Ferndale, Rita Pendergrast of Bad Axe, Charles Pendergrast, Jr. of Taylor and Eddy and Deborah Pendergrast of Berkley; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private family remembrance is planned. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home.
