Frederic Keith "Rick" Morley Ii

Beloved husband, son, brother, friend, Frederic Morley II stepped into eternity from his home, his farmhouse in Mayville. His devoted wife of thirty-nine years, lifelong love and caregiver, Cindy, was at his side as he was called home on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He waited until the Morley send-off team had gathered to pray with Pastor Steele. The son of Frederic Keith and Elizabeth J. (Shulick) Morley was born on August 30, 1957 in Lansing. He was baptized, confirmed, and educated at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Growing up, Rick traveled in the back of the station wagon to Wolverine, camping the great lakes, or to the ballpark with his brother and many sisters. The quiet one, he played baseball, cribbage, and learned to hunt and fish with his dad, brother, grandpa, and uncles from a young age. The shortstop grew into his big glove and loved the crack of the bat. He attended Saginaw Township Schools and graduated from Eisenhower High School where he excelled in sports and made lifelong friends including his wife, Cindy. He played Saginaw Township North Little League and for Wendell Nehmer Mean's Stamping Team in the Connie Mack summer leagues; cheered on by the Morley Fan Club. Rick played baseball for Ferris State University on a full ride scholarship - holding the record for triples as a freshman. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting in 1979 and then obtained his master's degree in business administration from SVSU. He worked for Vlasic Foods, V.P. of Operations at Wilkinson Corporation in Mayville, and Director of Academic Services and Professor of Business Administration at Davenport University. He married Cynthia Ponichtera on October 10, 1981 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Saginaw. They lived and worked in Saginaw Township and Mayville raising, training, and hunting with their much-loved Labrador Retrievers. He loved his state of Michigan, source of hunting, fishing, berry picking and mushrooming adventures, Tiger ballgames and college basketball. He cherished his time at deer camp and with beloved friends and family at his place on the river in Wolverine. Rick was grateful for good friends: Mike Gnatkowski, Dave Jerome, Tom Gilbert, Tom Nichols, Mike LeBlanc, Rick French, and Garth LaPlante. His Kennedy's Disease slowed but didn't stop him - still outdoors kayaking and deer hunting, traveling to weddings, graduations, and reunions with Cindy's help. He suffered without complaint, always with concern for others and a prayer in his heart. With the heart of a teacher, he will be remembered for his loving, kind, and gentle spirit. He served with the Bridgeport Lions Club and other volunteer activities. Rick lived an intentional life of faith in Jesus Christ. Devoted to his church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro, he served as Elder, Stephen Minister, Mentor, and Disciple of the Good News of saving grace. Rick would ask that you come to know Jesus who is waiting to ensure your place in Heaven. Special thanks to Pastor Cameron Steele, Gideon brothers and sisters, Heartland Hospice friends, Carley, Josh, Autumn, Courtney, to Dr. Mir, and all those who prayed us through this journey. Our best friend and example is free of all infirmity in his heavenly home smiling that smile we hold dear in our hearts. Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Morley; his father, F.
