Frederick W. Duever Jr.

Frederick W. Duever Jr, 72, of Elkton passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at home under hospice care.

Fred was born May 27, 1949 in Pigeon to the late Friedrich W. and Anna (Haas) Duever Sr. He graduated from Laker High School in 1967 and studied agriculture at Michigan State University. He married Patricia Cavanaugh on March 18, 1973 in Bad Axe.

Fred was a farmer and operated a logging/firewood business selling firewood in Metro Detroit . Fred was generous and often gave to causes anonymously. He was generous with his time helping out neighbors and at the Chandler Presbyterian Church. He loved the outdoors, puttering in his shed, visiting parks and historic sites, and he was known for never missing an auction. He adored his granddaughters and finding special little gifts for them.

Fred is survived by his wife of 48 years Pat; children Meagan of Athens, Georgia, Aaron of Pigeon, Gretchen Railling of Montrose and Kyle of Elkton; and granddaughters Olivia, Avery and Casey.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, July 27th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Dede Russell officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 Monday.
