Frederick J. Hintz, 81, of Caseville, died Monday, March 17, at Heartland Health Care in Bridgeport.
He was born April 20, 1921 to the late Elmer and Eleanor (Schwarz) Hintz in Detroit.
On April 28, 1945, he was married to Marie M. Lobeck, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. She preceded him in death February 3, 2000. Mr. Hintz had been employed by the Hudson Motorcar Company for thirty-five years, and, later with Chrysler Corporation for ten years as a journeyman tool and die maker retiring in 1984. Mr. and Mrs. Hintz moved from Eastpointe, in 1987 to their vacation home near Mud Creek.
Surviving Mr. Hintz are a stepdaughter, Joanna Graller of Davenport, Iowa; four step-grandchildren, Michael, April, John and Kris; 5 step-grandchildren, Bryan, Bryse, Danielle, Frederick and Miriam; a great great grandaughter, Skyler; two sisters, Elaine Hintz Beckeney of Alpena, and Joyce Hintz Kageff and her husband, Gordon of Longwood, FL, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention should be made of his dearest childhood friend, Mr. Robert Wilkins of Capac. Preceding him in death are his parents, a stepson, Bud and a brother, Elmer Hintz in 1995.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM, Thursday and after 10:00 AM Friday. Internment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Bad Axe.
