Frederick N. Whaley, 77, of Pigeon, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Meadow Lane in Bad Axe.
Fred was born August 7, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter and Anna (Mienert) Whaley. He graduated from Detroit Benedictine High School in 1959. He served in the US Army from 1963 to 1965. He married Karen Heabler on November 12, 1966 in Detroit; she preceded him in death October 26, 2004.
He was a diesel mechanic at Gettel Equipment in Pigeon and then a crane operator for Saginaw Foundation and Dome Corporation. He was a former member of Caseville Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Fred is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Tim) Roestel of Gaylord; grandchildren Heather (Justin) Demars, Kenny, Allison (Brennan) Miller, and Emilee; and great-grandchildren Harper and Reed. He was preceded in death by his brother George.
Interment will be 11:00am, Saturday, October 5th at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Pigeon. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
