Fredrick Engelhart

Fredrick T. Engelhart, age 71, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. Fritz was born March 7, 1939 in rural Vassar, the son of the late Herman & Elsie (Veitengruber) Engelhart and was a lifelong area resident. He was united in marriage with the former Carol Schaumann on June 4, 1960. She preceded him in death in December of 2004. For a period of time, he had been employed with Tuckey Cement Company, and later worked and retired from the Caro Department of Public Works in 1998. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Jeffery L. Engelhart and Fredrick T. Engelhart, Jr., both of Caro, Julie Best of Vassar; two grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Best; one great-grandson; his dear companion, Ilene Benn of Caro; one brother, Ervin Engelhart of Birch Run; one sister, Mildred Hecht of Fairgrove and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Fred was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Danielle Marie Tausch-Engelhart in 2000; three brothers, Herman, LeRoy and Mack Engelhart; and two sisters, Dorothy Guy and Gloria Comer. In keeping with Fritzs wishes, cremation has taken place.
