G Gale L VanBrande age 65 of Pinnebog formerly of Yale died Monday evening, July 7, at his home from multiple health problems.
He was born May 11, 1949 in Port Huron to the late Leon and Nola (Cahoon) VanBrande. After high school he served in the US Navy for four years.
On August 1, 1981 he was united in marriage to Brenda K. Baur at the Yale Methodist Church. They lived in Imlay City for eight years, then moved to Yale. Gale was employed with General Motors for over 27 years, retiring in 1995 for health reasons. In 2007, they moved to the Pinnebog area.
Gale was the out of doors type, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, mostly to the U P and was a hobby farmer raising chickens, turkeys, etc. He was also a handyman mechanic always working on or building something.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda; three children, Pat (Sabrina) VanBrande of Fort Gratiot, Steve VanBrande of Yale and Holly VanBrande; a grandson, Caiden VanBrande; his brother, Marshall VanBrande of Port Huron and three sisters, Sharlene Scarborough of Port Huron, Joann VanBrande of Port Sanilac and Leola Malcom of Colorado.
Preceding him in death were his foster parents, James and Mary O’Neil.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
Rev. Nancy Bitterling, pastor of the Pinnebog United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday.
