Garry Fred Gamet

Garry Fred Gamet of Caro, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home. He was born November 13, 1945 in Flint, the son of the late Fred and Phyllis (Hoskins) Gamet. Garry was a 1964 graduate of Vassar High School, and attended GM Institute and Spring Arbor College. He worked as a salesman for much of his life, and retired in 2010 from Erla's Grocery Store where he had been employed for seventeen years in the frozen food department. Garry enjoyed deer hunting, small game hunting, and was known to occasionally "wet a line." He was a member and current secretary of the United Sportsman Alliance. Garry is survived by three sons, Pete & Kathy Gamet of Gagetown, John Gamet of Three Rivers, Andrew Gamet of Otsego; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four brothers and their spouses, Kenneth & Jan Gamet of Vassar, Ted & Connie Gamet of Vassar, Dave & Brenda Gamet of Millington, Jack & Doris Gamet of Vassar; one aunt, Janeen Hoskins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by one uncle, Ray Hoskins. In keeping with Garry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Deford Community Church with Pastor David Cooper officiating.
