Gary James Boudreau of Millington, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1950, in Van Buren, Maine, the son of the late Edgar and Ida (Corbin) Boudreau.
On July 19, 1969, Gary married the love of his life, Dora “Dody” Purrington, at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston, Maine. Together, they shared over fifty-seven years of marriage and many cherished memories.
Gary worked as an engineer in the textile industry for over fifty years. Throughout his career, he worked for several companies, including Woods Woolen in Maine and L.W. Packard & Co. in New Hampshire, before retiring from Zeilinger Wool Co. in Frankenmuth in 2018. His work took him all over the world, including trips to China, Italy, and frequent visits to Canada, where his ability to speak fluent French came in handy.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on just about anything he could get his hands on. He was a natural tinkerer who could often be found taking things apart, fixing them, or figuring out how to make them work better. Gary loved joking around and making people laugh, but above all, he was a family man who enjoyed spending time with those closest to him.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dody; children, Shannon (Mark) Holley, Shaun Boudreau, and Sarah Boudreau; grandchildren, Thomas Wesoja, Kylie (Justin) Bowman, Keira Boudreau, Brody Boudreau, Bree Boudreau, Madalynn Boudreau, and Rylie Boudreau; great-grandchildren, Ava Bowman, Troy Bowman, Chase Bowman, Jameson Bowman, and River Wesoja; siblings, Velma Pfundheller, Maxine Gautsch, and Rudy Boudreau; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his grandson on August 30, 2010, Robert Wesoja III; and siblings, Norma Forgue, Carline Bellefleur, and Mike Boudreau.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes cremation has taken place.
