Gary L. Peyerk

April 5, 1962 — June 1, 2006

Gary L. Peyerk, age 44, of Elkton died Thursday morning at his home.
He was born April 5, 1962, in Bad Axe to the late Leonard and Rosalia (Jock) Peyerk.
After graduating from Laker High School, he went to college for a year. He lived in the Elkton area until 1991 when he took a position with Schwann Ice Cream transferring him to Temperance, Michigan. He and his family returned to the area in 1996 and he received his residential contractors license. A short time later, he started his own company, Versatile Building, doing new construction and remodeling. During that time he also worked at Huron Castings and was a part time installer for Direct TV.
He attended Holy Family Catholic Church, Sebewaing and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 8582 Unionville-Sebewaing. Gary enjoyed woodworking and making crafts. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends most especially his three children.
Surviving are his children, Alex, Alivia and Mason all at home; four brothers, Dennis (Lori) Peyerk, Blaine (Leann) Peyerk and Steve Peyerk all of Elkton and Mark Peyerk of Gagetown; five sisters, Christine Peyerk of Elkton, Barbara Peyerk of Elmer, Tami Peyerk of Blue Ridge, GA, Betty (Roy) Schave and Ellen (Randy) Graves both of Elkton and fifteen nieces and nephews
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Sunday and after 9:30 Monday morning. Memorials may be given to the family.
