Gary Evan Rish

Gary E. Rish, age 74 of Unionville, MI passed away peacefully, with his loving wife Leila by his side, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 under the care of McLaren Hospice Care. Gary was born on July 20, 1941 in Kenton, Ohio.


Gary enjoyed his passion of baking, gardening, especially the pond he built in the backyard and watching the goldfish swimming around in the pond. Gary worked as an insurance auditor, design construction manager for K-Mart, and other positions.


Gary is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Leila; A brother Robert Rish of Circleville, OH; sisters, Rosella Vansky, Kenton, OH and Nancy Musson, Knoxville, TN; mother-in-law Dorothy Ortner of Unionville; sister-in-law Mary (Gary) Wissner of Sebewaing; brothers-in-law Kevin (Gayle) Ortner of Bay City; Dean Poppy of St. Louis, MI; many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents Horace & Irene Rish; father-in-law Arnold Ortner; sisters-in-law Diane Rish and Debbie Poppy; brother-in-law Paul Musson.


Cremation was arranged by Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home of Sebewaing.

A memorial service will be held on June 4, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Unionville where Gary was a member. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at noon, Pastor Steven Stolarczyk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church Future Needs Fund or St. Paul Lutheran Church Music Fund.
