Gary A. Roth age 78 of Caseville died Sunday afternoon, July 5, at Scheurer Hospital of a probable massive heart attack.
He was born April 8, 1937 in Elkton at the home of his parents, the late Keith and Grace (Stirrett) Roth. Gary grew up in Elkton and was a 1955 graduate of Elkton High School. After one year of college, Gary was inducted in to the US Army and served in France.
He was united in marriage to Mary (Kay) Henze November 21, 1964 at St. Veronica Catholic Church, East Detroit.
When he returned from his military service, he moved to the Detroit area, becoming a pattern maker. First with Arrow Pattern 15 years and then with Bespro Pattern, Sterling Heights for 20, retiring in 1999 and moved back to Huron County.
He was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog, Port Austin American Legion and the Caseville Eagles. Gary was an avid duck hunter, geese and pheasant as well. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and visiting with neighbors and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Kay; two children, Chris (Pamela) Roth of Port Austin, and Shelley (Ed) Komeshak of Holly; three grandchildren, Dylan, Mary Katherine and Lauren; three brothers, Bruce Roth of Grand Rapids, Doug (Karen) Roth of Dryden and Curt (Maurine) Roth of Lapeer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, July 9, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Elder Karen Bouverette, staff chaplain will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday.
Memorial gifts may be given to Ducks Unlimited or the donor’s choice.
