Gary Michael Stoddard

Gary Michael Stoddard of Caro, age 61, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home. Gary was born May 30, 1955 in Cass City, the son of Shirley (Dinsmore) Stoddard and the late Dwain Stoddard. He was a graduate of Caro High School, and went on to work for the Bricklayers Union Local 2. Gary was an avid country music lover and guitar player, and also enjoyed caning chairs. He attended the Caro United Methodist Church. Gary is survived by one daughter, Cari of Virginia; one son, Dustin and his fianc, Shasta, of Carlisle, Kentucky; five grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Stoddard of Caro; siblings, Debra Hennessey of Bay City, Randy & Becky Stoddard of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Kevin Stoddard and Tammy of Kalamazoo, Lisa Temple and Michael Rector of Ypsilanti, Beverly Stoddard and Raymond Vela of Carrollton; nieces and nephews, Kara, Brandon, Katherine, Ashley, Kaleigh, Carly, Shirlyn, Michel, Ariana and Nicolas; aunts and uncles, Waneta Thompson of Sebring, Florida, Lodemia Grabitz of Sandusky, Gayle Baum of Frankenmuth, Norma Rickwalt of Caro, Norma Dinsmore of Unionville; several cousins; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Onyx. In addition to his father, Gary was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, David Hennessey and Robert Temple; one nephew, Michael Hennessey; and one niece, Ava Vela. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Tony Tomasino officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Cass River Pet Friendz or the Caro United Methodist Church.
