Gaye C. Mccreedy

Gaye C. McCreedy of Caro, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Medilodge of Cass City, surrounded by her loving family. Gaye was born February 12, 1935 in Caro, the daughter of the late Gerald and Viola (Timm) Kennedy, and was a 1953 graduate of Caro High School. She was united in marriage with Richard McCreedy on April 6, 1962 at the Caro United Methodist Church. Gaye was employed as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and Century Telephone for many years, taking time off to raise her family. She loved being a mother and grandmother, and enjoyed bowling. Gaye is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Dick McCreedy of Caro; two children and their spouses, Stacee & Donald Markel of Cass City, Brent & Maria McCreedy of Deerfield, Illinois; three grandchildren, Drew Markel, Matteo McCreedy and Isabella McCreedy; and one sister, Denise Kennedy of Caro. In addition to her parents, Gaye was preceded in death by three siblings, Dianne Wray, Joe Kennedy and Myrna Jo Colling. The funeral service will be held at the 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Tony Tomasino officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or Compassus Hospice.
