Genevieve Buschlen

Genevieve “Genny” Buschlen, age 70, of Pigeon died Wednesday May 10, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit.
She was born September 20, 1935 in Chandler Twp. at the home of her parents, Amanda (Wurst) Schuette and the late Arnold Schuette and lived in the Elkton/Pigeon area all her life.
On May 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to LeRoy L. Buschlen at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berne. He preceded her in death April 1, of last year.
Genny had been a teller at the Pigeon State Bank and Bay Port Bank for a number of years before taking a position at Mutual Savings and Loan in Pigeon leaving there in 1981.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linkville and Ladies Aide also working and making posters to advertise the fall church bazaar. She enjoyed making quilts and sewing children’s clothes and doll outfits for her granddaughters.
Surviving are her son, Tom (Laura) Buschlen of Pigeon; six grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, Kristen, Jessica, Katie and Emily; two great granddaughters, Laura and Nevaeh; two brothers, Harvey (Doris) Schuette and Orville (Millie) Schuette both of Pigeon; two sisters, Lorraine Metzger of Grant Twp and Noel (Ron) Wichert of Pigeon and a sister-in-law, Diane Schuette of Pigeon.
Preceding her in death was her brother, Arnold “Junior” Schuette and her brother-in-law, Don Metzger.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, May 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linkville. Rev. Lee Wenskay, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Sunday, May 14, at the funeral home and after 10 AM Monday at the church.

Memorials may be given to the family.
