Genevieve Matuszak

Genevieve Helen Matuszak, passed into Glory on Monday, June 12, 2006 at her residence, age 84. She was born on December 1, 1921 at Colwood and was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. On July 1, 1948 the former Genevieve Guild married Peter Matuszak in Gagetown. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1981. She dedicated her entire life to being a loving wife and mother. She is survived by one son, Jack and Kathy Matuszak of Caro; three daughters, Marie and Gary Van Wormer of Bay City, Nancy and Ray Rendon of Caro, Rosemary and Greg Raymond of Caro; four grandchildren, Dana and Mike Czewski of Freeland, Lora and Phil Stevens of Saginaw, Stacy Van Wormer of Bay City, and Marc and Lisa Van Wormer of Munger; one great-granddaughter, Katie Van Wormer of Munger; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Guild Gordon; one brother, Alvin Guild; and one step-brother, Stilson (Stub) Hall. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church, at the Corner of M-81 and Colwood Road in Caro, with Pastors Phil Whipple and Rocky Spear officiating. Burial will follow in the Wahjamega Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home, 302 S. State St., Caro, on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church or Laurel Mission in Kentucky.
