Genevieve Orlowski

Genevieve F. Orlowski, age 87, passed away at Hurley Medical Center in Flint on Thursday, November 5, 2009, following a brief illness. She was born October 6, 1922 on her familys farm in Wells Township, the daughter of the late Thomas & Frances (Januszczak) Halabis, and was a lifelong Wells Township resident. Genevieve was united in marriage with Harry E. Orlowski on May 10, 1947 in Caro. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1984. Genevieve was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and was an active volunteer at funeral luncheons. Genevieve was a member of the Polish-American Club of Caro and also enjoyed collecting coins. Genevieve is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Karen & James Elder of New Baltimore, Linda & James Wyrick of Richland, Sharon & Larry Smith of Reed City, Nancy Holzworth of Caro; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Angeline Halabis, Rose Obuchowski, Stephen Halabis and Walter Halabis.
