George Martin Behm, 81, of Pigeon, passed Friday, March 7, 2025 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
George was born March 20, 1943 in Pigeon, and was the son of the late Oscar and Eleanor (Weideman) Behm. He married Florence Bolzman on July 15, 1967 at New Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.
George was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne where he served as an Elder and Trustee of the church. George farmed all of his life. He worked on the John Eichler Farm for 50 years. Then he worked his farm until his retirement. George enjoyed fixing lawnmowers and working on any small engine to get it running. He also enjoyed going ice fishing in the winter.
Surviving are his wife Florence; two sons, Rodney of Pigeon and Rick (Jill) of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; three brothers: Paul (Mick) of Tucson, AZ, William of Lapeer, and Ross (Debbi) of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law Donna of Sebewaing; grandsons Andrew and Matthew; three nieces and five nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; twin infants Anthony and Angela; brothers Clare and Dale; and sisters-in-law Vicki, Anita, and Barbara.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 10th, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne with Rev. Steven Neuman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 6:00pm Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
