George Hall

George W. (Bill) Hall, age 84, of Higgins Lake, and formerly of Caro, died on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Mercy Hospital Grayling with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ardella (Hosey) Hall and four children, Marta and Herman Respess of Harper Woods, David and Sharon Hall of Alpena, Douglas and Lupe Hall of Caro, and Margie and James Cook of Stanwood; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Molly Richey of Englewood, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. George was raised in Vermontville, Michigan. A WWII veteran, George was inducted into the Navy and served in the campaigns of the Philippines, Okinawa, and Japan. He graduated in 1950 with a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State College and was employed by the Michigan State Treasury. He lived and raised his family in Caro, and upon his retirement in 1984, he and his wife moved to Higgins Lake. Private interment will follow services at the Lyon Township Cemetery Chapel where military honors will be afforded. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 16130 Northland Drive, Southfield, MI 48075-5218. There will be no visitation or services at the Collon Funeral Home.
