George J. Hunt

George J. Hunt, age 82, of Pigeon died Tuesday morning, June 6, 2006 at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
He was born May 2, 1924, in Addison, Michigan to the late George and Fannie (Wiggens) Hunt.
On October 11, 1945, he was united in marriage to Irene S. Farnum in Dryden.
George graduated for the General Motors Tech Center, Warren in 1957 and had been employed as parts and service manager at the Pontiac dealer in Almont. In 1969, they moved to Huron County where he worked as a builder in the Kinde area. In 1970, he bought the Ubly Lumber Yard, operating it until 1983 when he sold it and retired.
He enjoyed woodworking making crafts and his specialty birdhouses of all kinds.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; three children, Roger (Nancy) Hunt of Ubly, Kathy (Leonard) Murawski of Sterling Heights and Sheila (Dave) McBride of Pigeon; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two sisters, Viola (Carroll) Poling and Mildred Poling both of Florida.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery, Farwell. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
