George A. Yachim

George Yachim, 94, of Grand Ledge, MI, formerly of Sebewaing, MI went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2019.

George was born on a farm near Sebewaing to the late John and Theophilia Yachim. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1942. He was wed to Bobbie Carpenter in 1949 and they resided in Sebewaing until 1998.

George retired from Michigan Sugar in 1987 after 43 years.

He is survived by a son, Parvin (Janet) Yachim, a granddaughter Leah (Andrew) Frey, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie, brothers Peter Yachim, Walter Sigmund, John Sigmund and Anthony Sigmund.

Funeral services will be held at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, on June 1, 2019.  Visitation from 12:30-2:00. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ingham County Medical Care Facility Foundation in Okemos, MI.
