Georgene Lynch

Georgene Lynch of Caro, age 74, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her home with her loving family and friends by her side. Georgene was born June 13, 1946 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of the late George & Dorothy (Mott) Battles. She grew up in Illinois and graduated there from DeKalb High School with the class of 1964. Shortly after, Georgie was united in marriage with Victor Lynch on October 1, 1966 in Anchorage, Alaska. Vic preceded her in death on March 15, 2011 after forty-four years of marriage. Georgie volunteered for many years at McComb Elementary School in Caro as a teacher's aide before joining her husband in their family business, Vic's Sports World in Caro. After several years with him, she began a twenty-year career in advertising with the Tuscola County Advertiser and WKYO Radio, retiring in 2010. Georgie was an avid bowler and in 2019 was inducted into the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge and enjoyed bird watching and traveling with friends. Georgie was happiest when surrounded by her grandkids and remained active in their lives. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael Lynch and his wife, Kathleen, of Freeland, Andrew Lynch and Renee of Freeland; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Courtney, Morgan, Riley, Coburn, Emerson, Davis, and Brenda; one great-grandson, Parker; and three sisters and their spouses, Cynthia Jo & Glenn Knight, Dottie Lou Coleman, Carla & Steve Clark. In keeping with Georgie's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the funeral home. Following the service, a celebration will be held at the Brentwood, 178 Park Drive, Caro, MI 48723.
