Gerald Max Adams of Deford, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his daughter's home. Jerry was born September 10, 1936 in Caro, one of fifteen children born to the late Hurshel and Carmen (Curtis) Adams. He was united in marriage with the former Alice Smith on September 11, 1958. Jerry proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1962. He went on to help his fellow veterans by being a DAV driver transporting veterans to area doctors and hospitals. He was an active member of the Caro VFW Post #4164 and the Caro American Legion Post #7. Jerry enjoyed playing cards and hunting. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Alice Adams; four children, Brenda, Gerald, Herschel and April; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six siblings and their spouses, Cecil & Brigette Adams, Nelda Stevens, Curtis & Penny Adams, Denise Gusek, Linda & Lawrence Spiekerman, Kim & Mark Carr; sister-in-law, Lil Adams; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a good friend, Gloria Bucholz. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Richard & Theresa, Johnny and Alan A; four sisters, Elma Marion & Don Duncan, Alberta & Robert Jones, Carmen Ferol & Jack Lake, and Karen & George Newton. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. and the Caro American Legion Post #7 in Caro. Military honors will be afforded by the Caro American Legion Post #7 and Caro VFW Post #4164.
