Gerald F. "Jerry" Gage

Gerald F. "Jerry" Gage of Caro, age 76, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center in Mayville. Jerry was born October 28, 1942 in Cass City, the son of the late Floyd William and Irene Helen (Smith) Gage. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Cass City High School. Following graduation from high school, Jerry went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return, he worked as a forklift operator for Pontiac Motors, retiring after thirty years of employment. Jerry loved Detroit Tiger baseball, U of M football, hunting, shooting pool, and thoroughly enjoyed a good cup of coffee. He was a member of the Caro American Legion Post #7. Jerry is survived by two daughters, Deanna Gage-Miller and Rachelle Gage-Boitel & Todd Comment; four grandchildren, Emily, Brant, Blane and Brooke; two great-grandchildren, Abram and Addie; his longtime best friend, Sue Kelley, and her two children, Chris and Bridgette Carr; and one brother, Bill Gage. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Bob. In keeping with Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Military honors will be afforded by the Caro American Legion Post #7 and the U.S. Navy on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
