Gerald G. Gremel

Gerald G. Gremel, age 81, of Sebewaing, passed away Monday night, October 6, 2014 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Gerald was born November 9, 1932 in Saginaw, the son of the late Roy and Mary (Jantos) Gremel. He married Margaret Katzinger on November 3, 1956 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. Gerald enjoyed farming his entire life. He was a member of the VFW Sportsmen's Club in Sebewaing, a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh where he had held many board positions. He was also on the Fairhaven Twp. Board for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for rides in the country, antique tractors, watching the Detroit Tigers, making wine, and spending time with his family and visiting with his neighbors.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Margaret; children: Michael (Susan) Gremel of Sebewaing, Sheryl (David) Jacobs of Munger, Laurie (Bill) Palamar of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Bonnie (Dan) Bates of Sebewaing and Joshua (April) Gremel of Unionville; grandchildren: Gordon Gremel and Megan (Michael) Terrian, Trevor (Nichole) Jacobs and Aaron Jacobs, Emily and Christian Palamar, Laryssa, Kylie and Dalaney Bates, Anna and Jacob Gremel; great grandchildren: Rahlan Gremel and Evan Terrian; siblings: Kenneth "Duffy" (Arlene) Gremel and Barbara (Bob) Katzinger; sisters-in-law, Charline Gremel, Frances Bodeis, Carol (Jeff) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Ralph Gremel and baby Johnny Gremel.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church (Kilmanagh). Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.
