Gerald Gusek

Gerald Gusek, age 64, of Mayville, died on July 19, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 25, 1947 at Caro Community Hospital to the late Louis and Helen (Buraczynski) Gusek. Gerald lived in rural Mayville and graduated from Kingston High School. He was a forklift operator at Pontiac Motors, where he had worked for 33 years. On June 25, 1966 he married the former Denise Adams at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville. Gerald was a member of the Catholic faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and scrapping. He is survived by his wife, Denise; five children, Deanna (Dallas) Anger, Gerald Gusek II (Robbin Broadworth), John (Tracey) Gusek, Tammy (Rod) Laney, Joseph Gusek (Deseree Miller; eight grandchildren, Kassi, Shelcey, McKenzie, Hailey, Brandon, Rodney, Madison, and John; his dog, Jack; one sister, Barb Freeman (Chris Meyers); a brother-in-law, Robert Zaradny; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Zaradny. The family would like to extend special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Henry Ford Hospital. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Ladd officiating. Burial will be at East Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Gerald Gusek family discretionary fund, c/o Denise Gusek.
