Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Noeker

Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Noeker of Caro, age 85, was called home to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024 at Wellsprings of Frankenmuth following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Gerald was born July 17, 1939 in Detroit, to the late Albert and Dorothy (Vanderworp) Noeker. He was born premature along with a twin brother James who passed away shortly after birth. Gerald was a graduate of Rochester High School, class of 1959. Shortly after graduation he was employed at GM Truck and Coach in Pontiac. In June of 1969, Gerald met the love of his life Sandra on a blind date, they were married on December 6, 1969 and the rest was history.

Gerald worked at GM Truck & Coach Division for thirty years as an assemblyman and then prior to retiring in 1992, he was a group leader. After his retirement he continued employment working for Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro for sixteen years. Gerald was a 3rd Degree member and a Past Grand Knight of the Caro Knights of Columbus, Council #3224. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Caro serving for years as a Eucharistic minister. Gerald enjoyed trap shooting in his younger years with several awards in competitive trap and skeet shooting, yearly deer hunting trips out west with friends, golfing, playing cards and having a "fix" (adult beverage) with his friends. He said the phrase "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" long before Jimmy Buffett did. His humor and outgoing personality made him an easy friend to make.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Theresa Childers and husband, Wayne of Caro; five grandchildren, Kyle (Brianna) Childers of Madison Heights, Brenden, Cody, Caylee and Aiden Childers all of Caro; two sisters, Joanne Noeker-Koski of Gunthrie, Oklahoma, and Marilyn Noeker of New Port Richey, Florida; three brothers, Melvin Noeker of New Port Richey, Florida, Thomas (Deborah) Noeker of Boise, Idaho and Carl Noeker of Homosassa, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends. His greatest partner in crime was his best friend of forty years, Lorenzo (Bones) Sollena. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Sandra Noeker in March of 2020; his parents, Albert and Dorothy Noeker; two brothers, Albert Noeker Jr. and James Noeker, his infant twin brother.

In keeping with Gerald's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
