Gerald "Jerry" Charles Loeffler, age 81, of Gagetown, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Jerry was born March 21, 1935, in Sebewaing, to the late Edward and Alma (Hoppe) Loeffler. After graduating from Sebewaing High School, he served with the National Guard and worked for Krauss Dairy, Sebewaing Milk Condensery and Michigan Sugar Company before becoming a self-employed farmer. On June 11, 1955, he married Joyce Stoeckle at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He loved all aspects of farming, repairing equipment, socializing with the other local farmers at the coffee shop, and helped many local farmers with his custom stone picking business. He loved his Lord and Savior and was an active member at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce; children: Timothy "Tim" (Pamela) Loeffler of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Cheryl "Sherry" (fiancé John Tomlinson) of Marlette, Kevin Loeffler of Gagetown, Kim Alan (friend Norma Volmering) Loeffler of Gagetown, and Shana (Mike) Holahan of Sarasota, FL.; grandchildren: Stacey, Derek, Shasta, Tanner and Shayley; great grandchildren: Bradley, Jayvin and Liam; siblings: LeRoy (Sharon) Loeffler of Sebewaing, Erwin (Cynthia) Loeffler of Sebewaing and Charlotte Kritzman of Cass City; sister-in-law, Joan Loeffler of Sebewaing.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernard Loeffler.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church or the Thumb Octagon Barn.
