Gerald E. Wagoner of Caro, age 72, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Caro Community Hospital. He was born May 10, 1937 in Pontiac, the son of the late Lee & Lucille E. (Morse) Wagoner. Gerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1954 and served until his honorable discharge in January of 1957. Upon his return to Pontiac, he began a thirty-one year career with General Motors, first with the Truck & Bus Plant in Pontiac and later at the Milford Proving Grounds, retiring in 1994. He was united in marriage with the former Barbara B. Orvik on July 19, 1993 in Clarksville, Tennessee, and the couple made Caro their home shortly after. Gerry loved woodworking, building virtually anything, working in his yard and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. In addition to his wife of over sixteen years, Barbara B. Wagoner of Caro, Gerry is survived by three children, Laura Metz of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Brad Wagoner of Brandon, Mississippi, Brooke and her husband, Chad Prieur of Davison; four grandchildren; three brothers and their spouses, Ronald & Joane Wagoner, Joseph & Margaret Giroux, James & Sharon Giroux, all of Caro, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his step-father, Lyndon L. Giroux.
