Geraldine Conely

Geraldine Conely of Caro, age 88, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette. Geraldine was born March 29, 1930 in Kingston Township, the daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Lillian (Silvernail) VanHorn. She graduated from Caro High School and went on to attend County Normal, teaching two years after that. Geraldine was united in marriage with Howard Conely on June 1, 1951 on Silvernail Road in Kingston Township. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. Geraldine enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene. Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Howard; five children and their spouses, Lynda & George Strom of Lake, Tim Conely of Caro, Melvin & Pat Conely of Bridgeport, Mark Conely and Wendy Rowe, Holly & Lee Bedore of Mayville; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by eight siblings. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Paul McNett officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro Church of the Nazarene.
