Geraldine “Geri” Margaret Starkey Quinn of Caro, age 96, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Heritage Hill Assisted Living, where she received wonderful care for the past three years. Geri was born on April 8, 1928 in Wahjamega to the late Fred and Margaret Starkey. She loved her mom and adored her mother-in-law, Norma Quinn. Geri met Dick Quinn at Caro High School. They were married on August 3, 1946, after his return from his service in the Navy. Geri thought painting walls and hanging wallpaper was fun and got her seamstress skills from her mom. She was a loyal friend to many and gave good “hugs” to everyone that knew her. Geri enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing poker, Euchre, solitaire, and sudoku, going to craft shows, and shopping with her friends. She loved spending time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren. Geri worked at Caro Medical Clinic for thirty-six years for Doctors Branding, Siegner, and Touma. After she left there, she worked for Dentist Larry Seal for another seven years as a receptionist. Geri attended the First Presbyterian Church of Caro and was a lifelong member of the Caro Moose Lodge.
Left to cherish her memory are two children and their spouses, Jeff and Carol Quinn of Caro, and Fred and Rita Quinn of Williamsburg, Virginia; and five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Geri was preceded in death by both parents in 1983; her husband, Richard, on August 18, 2012; and one brother, Gerald, on March 28, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Dementia Research.
