Geraldine M. “Geri” McEachin, age 73, of Caseville, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City of heart disease.
Geri was born December 11, 1934 in Detroit to the late Forrest and Bernice (Stone) Heiney. Geri met her future husband Robert McEachin while both were attending Ferris College where she was the 1952 homecoming queen. Geri and Bob were married on May 8, 1954 at St. Sebastion Catholic Church in Dearborn. Together, they raised their family in Warren before retiring to Caseville permanently in 1986.
Her faith was an important part of her life; she was an eucharistic minister at St. Roch Catholic Church and prayed the rosary daily. She was an all around athletic person who enjoyed being outside, whether fishing, playing tennis or golfing. She enjoying taking care of her family, cooking and had an artistic talent.
She is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Debbie Billiet of Ada, Shelly Krupa of Commerce Twp. and Sherrie (Glenn) McCullough of Chesterfield Twp.; grandchildren Brad, Rachael, Lindsay, Britney, Shannon, and Jamie; a great-granddaughter Marissa; and a brother, Robert (Eunice) Heiney of Big Rapids.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 27th at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Rev. Ken Yaroch presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10AM Tuesday at the church until the time of the mass.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
