Geraldine F. Poynton

Geraldine F. Poynton, 74, of Pigeon, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Brian’s House in Essexville.

Geri was born April 21, 1947 in Pigeon to the late Stanley and Idella (Wing) Jackel. She graduated from Laker High School in 1965, Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, German and French and the University of Michigan with a Master’s Degree. She taught English as a second language to adult students in Southfield. After retiring she returned to Pigeon from Madison Heights. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and active in their Bible studies. Geri loved reading, travel and embodied the spirit of being a lifelong learner. She helped countless people through her prayers and anonymous support.

Geri is survived by her son Brian of Detroit.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Monday, April 18th at Salem United Methodist Church in Pigeon with Rev. Albert Barchue officiating.
